I got a question for the panel about my bench press. Do you guys think it would be better for me to do my lockout work on my Max Effort bench days or Dynamic Effort bench days? Just wondering...

DE day directly after your speed sets. That's how I've done it in the past. That's how the great jim wendler suggested to do it. Haha

Ok thanx I may try that, though I'm not sure if I'll do that this week or not being that I just did it this Sunday but if I do I may just do some pin presses..

Word. Yeah twice a week might kill you... Haha
I wish I had the link to the article. But some guy name Ryan Kennelly said in an article I read somewhere before, that when his bench was stuck in the low to mid 800's, he called Louie up for some advice and Louie told him to add in some high board presses with little bar weights and lots of band tension for triples. So he would do his DE Benching and then keeping the same bar weight he would jump to the boards and add a band after each set until a HEAVY triple was achieved.

Yeah I may try to work those in maybe at least a couple times a month on my dynamic bench days. What would be your opinion on what I should do for the weeks that I am using chains for my speed work? Just work up in bar weight instead of chain weight? Also keep in my mind that I will be doing my speed work mostly by myself so I won't have a spotter and I may only come down like once a month to do it with you guys..
Also let me ask you this little buddy did it make you anymore sore on your max effort days than you normally would be or felt like it took away from your strength any on those days? I ask this because in the past when I would worked up on my dynamic days I felt like it negatively affected strength come my max effort day though that was to the chest and not too boards so IDK...

On the days you do chains, you could pin presses with straight weight or JM Presses with chains? That'd give you a slight break from the heavy bands. And both of those are pretty easy to execute without a spotte
Working up on BENCH Press after my DE sets would hurt me, just as you noticed with yourself, but doing the "lockout work" never did. I guess because its more of a Triceps exercise than anything, its probably not much more difficult to recover from than some sort of heavy extension would be.

Ok thanks little buddy that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I think going forward I'll probably do two weeks of lockout work and then weeks of heavy tricep work after my speed benching and see how that works out..
