Jazz, Brian took the words right out of my mouth. Just do what you do, and it may take some time for them to feel you out. Your lifting will do the talking, you won't have to say anything. Wish you the best! If you need MDBB to come out there and take them out behind, just let us know. I think Brian still has is Ice Pick somewhere...Lol

Keep up the good work Jazz but at the same time make sure you don't make your new training partners feel weak and pathetic and want to quit. So just ease your way into it before you unleash the Krackin and all hell breaks loose at your new gym in Seattle!
As for your conventional deadlifts make sure you pull the slack out of the bar before you start. I feel like it really helps me get into a good starting position and maybe that way you don't use as much low back when your pulling. Also make sure to drive your heels through the floor to start the lift and throw that head back hard. Hope this helps!
And P.S. if you want to get an deadly grip do some DB Kroc Rows they have done wonders for my grip... well among other things ;D

Thanks guys! I like the fact that you would take an ice pick to someone for me. That says a lot. What other items does Brian have in the back of that Charger of his? Scott- Thanks for the tips. Amongst other things, what have you done to increase your grip? That is if you can mention it on the forum Actually, I think I just answered that question myself.

ME BP straight weight Barx8 95x8 135x5 185x1 225 (1 board)x0 Shoulder came off bench during hand off. 225 (1 board) x 1 Shirt (3 board rest of working sets) 315x2 345x1 365x1 405x1 felt easy 420x0 Justin R. decided to jack my shirt a lot. More than what I have been use to. I think my chest and shoulders were getting fatigued while holding the shirt in position. Then my left wrist wrap was not tight enough. Set up just didn't feel right.

BB Row 135x8 for 5 sets

Amongst other things, what have you done to increase your grip? That is if you can mention it on the forum Actually, I think I just answered that question myself. Well besides the uncensored things that I do at home in my spare time there a couple things that I have used in the weightroom in the past like doing plate pinches (holding two 10lb plates together, with the smooth part facing out) and DB hex head holds (Just grab a DB in each hand and hold it on the end) I would do both of these two exercises for certain amount of time (whether it's 30 sec, 60 sec, etc..) or for as long as I could trying to beat my previous time. Here are a couple of links below you can check out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNbatvOweWwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=xYjUwwP1gpUAlso Jazz I posted some deadlifting articles that I found on Elites in our article section on the form here if you want to check those out as well. Hope this all helps and hope things are going well for you so far in Seattle!

Thanks again Scott Wednesday 8/18/2011Sq straight weight no box (I miss that box). Also, we used an Iron wolf bar and it weighs 65lbs. Forgot that for my first few sets. Barx5 for 2 sets 155x5 for 2 sets 205x2 Briefs 295x2 315x1 335x1 Added knee wraps. Need to work on getting the feel of them being on tight. 365x1 385x1 Squats felt good. The guys mentioned that my depth looked good for all of my sets. 385 felt good and I believe that is the most weight I have done with just briefs and knee wraps. I was told my technique looks great. I think there is one person in particular that can take credit for that. He is a real dick to I was also told today that my gear sucks and wasn't doing much for me. Justin R. mentioned he would like to find a way to get me in preds and a leviathan. If it wasn't so damn expensive I would get it in a heart beat. We will see. Conventional DL 2" deficit 225x1 for 5 sets. focused on hip drive and speed. GHR bandx6 BWx4 bandx8 BWx2 bandx6 BWx4 Rev. Hyper 180x12 for 3 sets Side bends with DB 60x10 for 3 sets

385 in just briefs?! That's pretty massive! Im glad your new training partners are impressed with your technique.
Also, I've seen the pics of yalls new townhouse and your new mustang... so obviously money is NO object for the Todds these days. I say go ahead and get 2 leviathans! Hahaha

Well damn Brian, didn't I say that after her last meet that it didn't look like she was getting much pop out of her gear.. though personally if it was me Jazz I would just get the ACE suit and use it with no briefs b/c honestly you can still get a TON of pop out of it and it's no where near as hard to learn as trying to learn to the suit/brief combo but hey that's just my two cents. Either way I have not had an very good experience with hand-me-down gear and honestly feel like it's a waste of time, kinda like pissing in wind ya know I think it would better if you just went ahead and spent the money and got you some new gear to break in that will last you along time to come. Because in my own experience you never know how long you will be able to do this game so you might as well get the best gear that you can to compete with b/c you may only get but so many shots at the title ;D PEACE!! P.S. How do you like that Iron Wolfe Squat Bar??

I know I saw that. I told Justin if I can just better gear, I could get that no problem. Damn! That just fuels me even more.
I am getting some tips on how to get more pop out of my rage x. Also, Wednesday I am trying on Justin R's Leviathan and he said also he wanted me to try his inzer fusion for deadlift. If I like the Leviathan I will try and talk to Justin about spurlging for it. I need NEW GEAR!!!!!!!! As for the iron wolfe bar, I really like it. The knarl on it is banana's. That puppy won't move once you have it on your back. It is just a really sturdy bar. We have done our speed bench with that bar.

Sq to 15" box with bands (Approx. 115lbs of tension at top) Bar+Bandx5 95+Bandsx2 Tried closer stance but switched back to my wider stance. Tried on a member's Inzer Preds. Fit ok, just couldn't get the side of the legs up high enough. Had to roll up the legs. 155+Bandsx2 for 8 sets
Walking lunges with barbell 95xdown for 1 set and back for 1 set and down for last set
Sumo pulls with mini bands I think I did about 12 sets total. I was in a bad mood this day, so this was an chance for me to be alone and just lift. I slowly worked up in weight and did more sets than normal. My final set was 1 rep for about 250 lbs bar weight and the bands. However, this felt easier then efforts in the past. Felt really good.
Sit ups with KB 55x10 for 2 sets 55x8
Chrunches with cable 50x10 for 4 sets
Rev. Hyper 180x10 for 3 sets
Sunday 8/21/2011
Cardio-Hike with hubby. 1,000-1,200 feet of elevation gain. Duration about 2 hours.

ME BP Barx10 95x5 135x5 135x3 185x1 225 (2 board)x1 225 (1 board)x1 Shirt 315 (3 board)x1 345 (2 board)x1 365 (2 board)x1 385 (2 board)x1 405 (2 board)x1 Felt easy Suggestions were made to work on widening my grip. I think I did this a tiny bit today. Next time I am in the shirt, I will start with a wider grip instead of changing things once I already started. I also adjusted the shirt myself and noticed I jacked it myself to the point I was comfortable. Felt more pop out of my shirt. Very pleased with my session today.
BP with buffalo bar-focus on stretching out my chest. 95x15 for 3 sets 95x12
1 arm DB row 85x6 for 5 sets
1 arm KB shoulder press 30x6 for 3 sets Then turn KB upside down to do 1 arm shoulder press 18x6 for 3 sets
Face pulls with green band 4 sets of 15 reps
